American cyclist Amber Neben, along with professional triathletes Rebekah Keat and Mike Vine, filed a lawsuit in a California district court last December against Hammer Nutrition, maker of Endurolytes. The return of the backbone of the elite team (Brian Forbes, Jake Rubelt, and Kyle Colavito) is further strengthened by the addition of climbers David Glick and Jared Gilyard. This combination of promising talent along with young up and comers Jon Scholnick and Aaron Heun should prove hard to beat. The signing of World Cup Track Gold Medalist and American Olympian Jame Carney adds a fast finisher to this seasoned team and makes RideClean a podium threat in any race.

Between the two riders they had won three stages and worn the yellow jersey for two days (Schumacher).

The news is notable not only for the disappointment it brings but for the similarity it shares with other recent high profile cases of Performance Enhancing Drug abuse like the BALCO case involving Marion Jones and others. In both instances there was inside information given to anti-doping that enabled them to close in on the offenders.

Trying to stay up with the cheaters takes a lot of work. It would be a lot more simple to not have to worry about it.
