Hoodwinked!

Recently Jonathan Chodroff admitted to use and possession of EPO (see Joe Papp investigation at velonews.com). For the record, it is important to note that Jonathan rode with the RideClean team as a guest rider for two days, before retiring from the event, at the 2008 Tour of Utah. Obviously RideClean had no knowledge of Jonathan’s illicit history. The management and the riders of RideClean are saddened and upset with this news. This illustrates how pervasive the problem is. RideClean, however, will take this negative experience and use it as fuel for a stronger push towards its main objective to positively influence cycling culture and the future generations of athletes in pursuit of ethical sport. The mission remains the same: “RideClean, and be Proud of It.”

Issues Persist

Issues persist regarding PED's and cycling, both domestically and abroad as evidenced by the latest reports.

First Piere Bordry expressed concern regarding the use of two new PED's: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/afld-president-suspects-new-drugs-in-pel...

Then the news of Astarloza's positive EPO test: http://tour-de-france.velonews.com/article/96245/astarloza-tests-positiv...

Next the firing of Kirk O'Bee from the domestic Bissle Pro Team: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bissell-sacks-obee-for-contract-violatio...

And the on going, extremely protracted, investigation of Ullrich and his possible breach of oath regarding his relationship and payments to Dr. Fuentes (Operation Puerto): http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/ullrich-investigated-for-lying-under-oat...

And this is only 1 week in the sport of cycling, not to mention, for example, MLB.
